Our newly appointed Club Professional, Joe Gibbs, starts at Glynhir on 1st May

We are very pleased to report that we have secured the services of Joe Gibbs as the Club's new PGA Professional.

Joe will officially join the team on May 1st but you will probably meet him at the club in the run up to his start date as he prepares the shop in order to hit the ground running.

As a fully qualified PGA Professional he has gained the skills necessary to flourish in his new role as he looks to run his own Club Professional business for the first time.

Following his Degree gained in Sports Studies awarded in 2014 Joe competed his PGA qualification whilst working at Celtic Manor and spent a total of 5 years working at the resort.

For the last 18 months he has worked at Radyr Golf Club where he has further honed his skills.

He joins us with a well deserved reputation as an excellent coach and we are sure that with your support Joe will succeed and make a major contribution to the further development of our golf club.

We are pleased to announce that the draw for the Winter League 2019/20 group stage has been made. The games have to be completed by 1st December 2019. Top two in each league go through. Good luck to all participants!

Ffion Haf would like to add a personal message to note how much she would appreciate support from Glynhir members for this event. It is for a very beneficial cause for young people in our community, one that gives young people an opportunity to perform on a National stage. This organisation facilitated her to be able to perform, and go on to raise money towards other organisations such as our very own Glynhir Golf

Many people are enquiring when mats will be required on fairways and we are pleased to report that as long as the relatively mild conditions and therefore grass growth continues they will not be required. We would however advise that you get your mats ready because as soon as there is a general drop in temperature they will be required. However members may at their own discretion use winter mats for casual play.

Notice of EGM to be held at 7pm on Friday 9th November at the Clubhouse to elect a Club Vice Captain. We need an absolute minimum of 30 members so please come and vote for your preferred candidate.

Winter League entry envelopes are now available at the clubhouse, in the locker rooms, Pro Shop and bar. Closing date is the 14th October. The draw will be made on the following day, 15th October with games to commence on the following weekend.

Captain Tom's Away Day this year is at Bryn Meadows on Saturday May 12th. First tee: 09.40am
