Community Engagement

Glynhir is proud of where we are located, and the communities we are closely aligned to. We have an open-door policy and welcome anyone to call in for refreshments or just a chat in a warm environment.

We welcome charity, community and family celebration events.

We are privileged that Trap W.I. chose Glynhir as their base and we are able to host their outdoor / indoor activities, fitting their needs in with those of the golf members.
Joint venture between Glynhir GC and Trap W.I. – Unwanted/damaged spectacles were collected and donated to Ammanford Lions. Another collaboration effort, with unwanted and unloved bras collected to raise vital funds towards dedicated research towards seeking a vaccine against breast cancer.
Every year a group of ladies from Trap WI with Glynhir GC ladies go carol singing to raise funds locally - last year’s singing raised funds for the Jac Lewis Foundation and Noah’s Ark appeal. The year before Riding for the Disabled in Llandyfan and Crohn’s ward at Glangwili Hospital.
Initiated by a Glynhir member whose mum, living with dementia, benefitted from a simple hand knitted twiddle mitt. The coordinated project of knitted, crocheted and sewn twiddle mitts were gifted to the dementia ward at Prince Phillip Hospital, dementia patients at Amman Valley Hospital and individuals living in the community.
A surplus of manure belonging to the mum of a Glynhir GC member, was bagged up with the help of Glynhir members, and sold / delivered to the community to raise money for the Ukraine Appeal. Over £220 raised.
Glynhir was honoured to host a Ukraine Charity Golf Day. There was a fantastic turnout by the members and other community based supporters, which culminated in a donation of £5500.
The users of the day centre in Ammanford attend the Club weekly during the summer for an hour hitting balls on the practice range. The range, clubs and balls are supplied free of charge, and we are delighted that they also use the Clubhouse for refreshments and social events. br…
New and nearly new handbags filled with personal hygiene products were gifted to residents of Ammanford and Swansea Womens Aid Refuge.
