Dyfed League News

Decent Results for both teams last weekend, the B Team securing a good away draw at Cwmrhydneuadd despite cricket legend Gary Richards and partner Chris “Chopper” Hoather being 4 up after 7 and managing to lose 4 and 2, an impressive collapse. While the A team also ran Penrhos close in their opening fixture, securing 4 valuable points away from home in losing 5-4.

The B team will face a tough test next Sunday away to Milford Haven B team, good luck chaps.

Dreadful weather at the weekend particularly on Sunday saw both the Tigers B match at Milford and the Rabbits match away to Cardigan postponed. Revised dates will be circulated by section Captains shortly.

Well done to Arwel Mathias who popped in with the winning score of 37 points in the last group of players in Saturdays Queens Jubilee Trophy, in what were also difficult conditions.  Arwel has specifically asked that non of his friends turn up late for the presentation Dinner :-)

Newsflash

CAPTAIN DROPPED FOR PENRHOS MATCH

Club captain Jeff Roach has been dropped by his so-called buddy Richard
Evans for the 1st Tigers A Team match of the 2012 campaign.  The
decision is highly controversial following Roach’s 100% win record in
2011.

Evans justified the dropping by stating, “He’s playing crap and it was
young Brad who carried him anyway last year”.

The harsh decision was further compounded when Evans instructed Roach to
give up his team shirt to his replacement, debutant Martin Colley.

Roach was unavailable for comment, but is rumoured to be fuming and
convinced that this is Evans’ chance for revenge after, as a 19 year
old, being left out of the 1981 cricket team which Roach captained.

Evans denies this stating, “I got over that when I turned 50 and decided
it was time to move on”.
